Wolfberries or Goji Berries
Native to Tibet Goji berries are widely used in traditional Tibetan medicine to treat:
-Cleanse the blood, -Skin rashes, psoriasis,
-Allergies, - Insomnia,
-Diabetes, -Tuberculosis,
-Eye problems, -Lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
-Kidney and liver problems.
This long list of uses, which cover many areas of the body, becomes understandable when you take a look at the great nutritional power of these small red berries.
Scientific evaluation has found that Goji Berries contain:
18 amino acids,
21 trace minerals
500 times more Vit. C by weight than oranges.
Vit.s B1, B2, B6 and Vit E
13% Protein (That’s higher than whole wheat.)
And they are EXTREAMLY high in anti oxidants.
Goji Berries also contain many complex compounds and photonutrients such as:
Betaine- Used by the liver to produce Choline, which calms nervousness, enhances memory, promotes muscle growth, and helps to protect against fatty liver disease.
Physalin- Active against all major types of leukaemia, and has been used in the treatment of hepatitis B.
Solavetivone- an anti fungal and anti bacterial compound.
Beta-sitoserol- Anti inflammatory, has been used to treat impotence and prostate enlargement, also lowers cholesterol.
