Hibiscus Flowers
These stunning flowers with their rich red colour have been widely used in folk medicine, especially in their native Egypt.
This is not surprising as Hibiscus is considered a cooling herb, which brings welcome relief in hot weather by increasing blood flow to the skin and dilating the skin’s pores. This effect is also usefully to ‘sweat out’ colds, increasing urination, and in it’s use as a digestive and kidney tonic
This action is due to the two diuretic ingredients, which Hibiscus contains; asorbic acid and glycolic acid.
